There are a number of different shredding methods that are offered, from fast that uses a simple overwrite, slower that uses Dod 5220.22M, and very slow that uses Gutmann method.

Just drag the files or folders that you want to shred to the waste bin created by the program and all of them will be permanently deleted. The name of the application is Freeraser and you can download it from the developer’s website.
